Color Trend- Two Great Transitional Colors for Fall 2012! Part 1

I know, I know, it's smack in the middle of summer, but I am super excited for all the great fall collections coming out! But before you immediately start breaking out the burgundies and golds for fall, try rocking a transitional color first! This ensures you're not going from bright summer neons directly to the warm browns of fall. Two great transitional colors for this year are red and purple. These colors are wonderful because they're not shockingly bright, but they don't have to be rich, cozy colors either. They are also right on trend, especially the red! I'm going to divide this post up into 2 parts. This is part 1: the red.

RED

Lip products to try:

Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip gloss in Black Ruby. This is a crimson, blood-red lip color. This gloss give your lips a pretty hint of shimmer.
$23, sephora.com

Mac Lipglass in Russian Red. This Lipglass is a bright, warm red that gives your lips a pop of color.  $15.00, maccosmetics.com

Mac Lipstick in Ruffian Red. This is a rich, blue-toned red lipstick.
$15.00, maccosmetics.com

Tarte Glamazon Lipstick in Fierce. This is a very bright red lipstick. If you want something more cool toned, also try this lipstick in Wild.
$26.00, sephora.com

Eye products to try:

Be careful with colors like red and pink on your eyes. If you don't wear them the right way, these colors can make your eyes look irritated. And especially don't use red on your waterline!

Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow in Red Copper 61. This is a gorgeous, shimmery maroon-copper eyeshadow, perfect for transitioning into fall.
$20, sephora.com

Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in 11 Diamond Burgundy. This is a shimmery burgundy liquid liner. This is a really pretty color, probably my favorite red eyeliner!
$23, sephora.com

Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in Burgundy 18L. If you're not a fan of liquid eyeliner, this is a very similar burgundy color in pencil form.
$18, sephora.com

Make Up For Ever Pure Pigments in No. 6. Now, this one is true red. If you want to wear this, it's great for a night out, but be careful! If you want to wear this during the day, try applying a little bit on the center of your lid, but blend it out with some brown eyeshadow to soften the look.
$20, sephora.com

Blushes to try:

Also be careful with blushes. You'll want to use a more burgundy leaning blush instead of a more peachy one, and not straight out red.

Mac Powder Blush in Fever. This is a nice, warm burgundy blush.
$20, maccomsmetics.com

Mac Powder Blush in Breezy. This is a burgundy-leaning-plum colored blush.
$20, maccosmetics.com

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Rose. This is a more red/pink and less burgundy blush. Cream blushes are great because they can be moisturizing for your skin, and they're super easy to blend!
$25, sephora.com
